There is a small crack on the left side fin that does not effect its performance. This outboard starts easily, shifts and runs well. It has forward, neutral and reverse. It has been repainted with Reprint primer and top coat.
It produces 10 horse power 4000rpm's. The green is the proper Mercury Green 1946-1955 and Sand Tan 1955-1958. All carburetor needle adjustments are set to oem specs. Before this outboard was repainted I had it on the lake all day with no issues.
The lower unit has all new bearings and water pump impeller carburetor was removed cleaned out given a synthetic float as the original cork fuel soaked. I chose not to have it tog welded as the possibility of heat war page. This 1953 Mercury Mark 15 outboard was only made for one year. It would make a really good fishing motor.
I was not able to find a Mercury Pressure tank that dent free so used an OMC is and absolutely rust. This tank was totally rebuilt with all new gaskets and hoses. Of coarse there is no warranty. I even replaced the cork float.
This outboard does not leak from any seal.
