This will replace your stripped out or detonated head perfectly. This item includes the cylinder head or one identical to it drilled and tapped where water will discharge, either with without thermostat open so you know your pump is functioning. The OMC Six's prior to 1977 didn't have the cooling system tell-tale aka pee hole on them nor did 5 HP made from '65 thru '67. No cracks, combustion chamber pitting, or any problems with the spark plug threads.

Good Used Cylinder head to fit any Johnson or Evinrude 6 HP 1965 1976; also fits 5 1965-'67 which had same block. Some owners of these older motors would prefer having that for peace mind; the do spew a good stream cooling water out back but shooting side where its in plain sight operator is nice added touch. I'm pricing this semi-custom item just five bucks more than the plain cylinder head which barely covers cost of brass fitting - you get my time and expertise for free. Routine carbonizing and a careful cleaning of the gasket surface on belt sander or sanding block with medium/fine grit sandpaper Emory cloth will do trick for leak-free installation.
