I'm sure there are ways of locating a replacement part, but unfortunately, I just don't have the time. I have even heard of people making attachments for cordless drills to start the engine. Up for grabs is a great vintage Johnson 2 hp outboard. One can manually wrap the cord on top of engine and start it that way.

Other than that it has some chips in the paint, but overall a great old motor. I just had this motor completely gone through by performance marine here in Adela, IA. It runs great. The only problem is a little piece of plastic that recoils rope after it started see last picture with finger pointing at white.
